Welcome distinguished Gentlemen (and Gentlewomen)!
A few details surrounding the day’s agenda and other particulars.
Firstly, the course is entirely asphalt with no gravel roads. Our friends from the Distinguished Gentlemen’s Ride will lead and accompany us on their period-era motorcycles to secure a smooth journey. We have several older cars amongst our group and our speed will be dictated by the maximum they feel comfortable traveling at. This is in all literal sense, a Sunday drive.
The day begins with meetup along with coffee and/or breakfast at our host, the Silver Diner in Ashburn where we will have reserved designated parking. Having given the public ample time to admire the assemblage of very distinguished vehicles, we ignite engines at 10:00 and embark on the first leg of our journey.
Initially, we’ll travel along Riverside Parkway towards the historic heart of Old Town Leesburg, where we’ll parade directly south on King Street through the center of town.
If necessary we will introduce a break point just South of old town Leesburg in the event a gas-up or restroom break is required, or if some of the older cars are looking for a shorter drive wish to end here.
The second leg leads us along the meandering Dry Mill Road, immersing us in the vibrant tapestry of autumnal foliage that lines the banks of Dry Mill Branch. We'll pass through the sleepy hamlet of Hamilton before cruising through the heart of Old Town Purcellville.
Our third leg unfolds South amidst the picturesque countryside of rolling horse fields and vineyards of Loudoun County. We continue down Snickersville Turnpike through Philomont and break right on charming Sam Fred road which winds alongside the serene Wancopin Creek.
The final leg carries us West on Little River Turnpike and culminates in a parade through the heart of Old Town Middleburg. Our final destination, the Lost Barrel Brewery, lies a few miles beyond and welcomes us with designated parking, as well as cozy fire pits and inviting tables reserved for our use.
Looking forward to driving dapper with you all.
